"that's a pretty interesting idea, to say the least. As far as i know,
there aren't any anarchist fairy tales, but then again, it must be
considered that most fairy tales came from feudal times. I'd say the
closest thing would be Robin Hood, but even that ends with him restoring
the original king to his throne...
Actually, technically speaking, it'd be impossible to actually write
"new" fairy tales. However, folk tales would be perfectly feasible to
come up with, such as a modern-day "john henry" with a more anarchist
centered moral behind it."

It may be impossible to write 'new' fairy tales, but that's anyway not the
important point, more important is that we have stories for our children
(perhaps even in illustrated books, sold in radical bookstores or at least
spread on the web as an alternative possibility for partents).
BTW my dictionary (Meyers Lexikon, sorry, it's a German one and I don't know
the exact translations of the words) says that there are two types of
Märchen (fairy-tales): Volksmärchen (anonymous oral tradition) and
Kunstmärchen (author known), therefore we could write some kind of 'real'
Märchen, although I think a name like tales for children or whatsoever would
be better, even if only to show that it is not a classic fairy-tale, but
like I said above, the name doesn't matter, the existence of such stories is
the only important thing and like you I never heard of anarchist stories (I
was just looking through a book with well known (German) fairy-tales, and
I'm probably going to have a look at a book with some Swiss fairy-tales, as
I remember these are stories close to the people, nothing with kings and so,
just peasants, maybe I find something useful). Perhaps I will put up a
website with collected anarchist fairy-tales, if I should find some and if
not I'll may write some of my own and use them for this place (although in
that case it will take some more time, guess I'll may be quite busy next
time, I'm already writing a book together with a friend, perhaps I'll give
that up, I just can't write in standard ways, got a more or less 'freaky'
style... and then there's still school, have to do an artwork that takes at
least 40 hours of work)... and maybe some of you know indeed anarchist tales
for children, everybody interested can write me an email, would be a nice
project...
