"The Secret Life Of Plants" recited all of this chapter and verse in the
late 60s-early 70s. I don't know that much of the electronic monitoring
has been disproved yet. The experiment was to hook plants up to
brain-wave type detecting electrodes and then someone would torture a
plant by burning the leaves. The next step was to burn leaves on a plant
in another room. The final test was to simply have a person visualize
burning a plant. As I recollect all of the actions get a measurable
response on the control plant.

Which is why I eat meat.

Speaking of which, my youngest brother, a slim 42-year old with a two
pack-a-day habit, a Serious Beer Fetish, and a high processed meat diet,
is as i write in the local emergency room with a cardiac fibrillation that
won't stop. Tommorrow they're going to shock him if it doesn't respond to
medications, which it hasn't since 9:00AM today. The doc told him 6-8
beers a night was too many (try 16-18, my bro lied) and to keep it down to
2-3 a day.

Telling that to my bro is like telling me I can smoke 2-3 cigarettes a
day--that would just be an excuse to start. My bro will keep lying about
those 2-3 beers the doc okayed until he keels over dead.
