But VAT is levied on clothes, utilities etc etc and you have to pay, and as it is a tax at the point of purchase, it hurts the relatively poor most. There was a victory against a tax, which hurt the government, but they just moved to plan B and got the money anyhow - you can't really protest about VAT on clothing in our damp climate. _as
