You've got to hand it to the soviets, they knew how to make a weapon that any mountain goat herder in Kazakistan could keep in a shootable condition. My SKS just keeps shooting and shooting. It's designed to actually shoot with sand in the chamber. The M16 or one of your belchum HKs would jam in a second like that. Can you buy gunpowder or pyrodex in Belchum? If you make a potato-gun out of plastic pipe you can sort of kentucky-rig a passable mortar round if you've got powder. Don't ask me how I know these things, I just do. carp
