It wasn't the hashish that got them.  There was a HUGE number of rooskie
soldiers who got hooked on opium/morphine there and an even bigger number
who discovered the profiteering side of capitalism and smuggled opiates
into the U$$R.  It was one of those remarkable similarities to the U$ and
the SE Asian war.
