	yep, ol Marty recorded it back in--i'm thinking--the
late 50s (58-59?).  i took a turn in the late 70s as a DJ
on a all-night country raddio station and i recall getting
a lotta requests for "El Paso" (mostly from Mexican girls).
as i recall, it was close to 20 years old back then.
	BTW, i'm about evenly split between remembering 
stuff that didnt happen and disremembering stuff that did.
but there is a advantage to aging--folk expect less from 
y and they tend to underestimate y, also.  makes it
easier to cheat at cribbage, too.  y get caught, just
drool a little.
