I've always thought that in any type of hierarchically organised society,
some people are bound to be raised to the platform of "the wise."
Deference will always be paid towards those who seem to hold all the
answers, be they priests, poets, philosophers or scientists.  I think
that's where anarchy kicks in.  If we can organise a society where everyone
is in control of their own affairs, and are free to make their own choices,
then mayhaps things will change.

Is that "The Dispossesed" you're talking about there Scott?
