Do you not like country because you have actually listened to all the various types of country and have made an informed decision that it has nothing to offer you, or are you just being somewhat elitist. Most of the people I know who don't like country haven't actually listened to much of it. They dislike it simply because it's not hip. Once you get beyond the pop like pabulum of Shania Twain, Alan Jackson, and their ilk, you'll find a rich musical heritage. Much of it is anti-authoritarian. There is a new country "scene" evolving right now called, among other things, alternative country or americana. The lyrics tend to be rather provocative and have a deeper meaning than most of the crap you hear on the radio. >Personally, I have no >time for people who avoid all mainstream music, just because they think >that >makes them more sophisticated Ditto. I also feel that way about people who avoid country for that same reason. Jerald p.s. But then again, I could be a bit biased. My grand-father was a country musician. He played with Eddie Arnold. _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Visit http://www.msn.com
