I have mixed feelings about this. I am grateful to the ones who have went to war for people like me ( I know that the wars in this century have been for politicians and rich peoples interests, but the vets I know usually dont understand that), but I also wonder why they fought under the same flag used as an excuse to massacre us. As far as it goes, I hate everything the US flag stands for, but as long as I live, on Veterans Day and Memorial Day I will continue putting flags on the graves of relatives who went to war. They had good intentions for going, even if it was lies they fought for. Im not trying to say that killing Vietnamese, or Korean, or anyone the US has been at war with was right, just dont blame the ones who were brainwashed or forced into going. Blame the ones who started the wars. Blame the ones who profiteered from the deaths and wounds of working class and the imagined enemy of the day. The only way to ever stop all this senseless violence is for common people to ban together and refuse to fight. Instead of having the UN prosecute war criminals, Common people should declare offensive war itself a crime and treat all leaders who propose starting shit with other nations as war criminals.
