Subject: fwd: Protest part of global plan

Here's an interesting article from the Electronic Telegraph about how
the authorities hate it when we coordinate protests and don't talk to
them. Notably absent from most protests yesterday were the blood-sucking
authoritarian leftists which poison most protest with their constant
newspaper sales.

Protest part of global plan
By Tom Sykes

THE "Carnival Against Capitalism" posed particular problems for the
authorities because organisers used the Internet to communicate.

This meant it was difficult for the police to estimate how many
protesters might be involved, especially as the organisers declined to
co-operate with police officers. It also meant that last night it was
unclear whether the violence originated among followers of the groups
formally organising the protesters, was conducted by other anarchistic
groups who tagged along, or was just a result of drunken troublemakers
spotting an opportunity for mayhem.

The official website, at www.j18.org did, however, give detailed
information on where and when protesters should assemble in central
London, with the assistance of a detailed on-line map. The map of
central London gave some clue as to the intended targets for the
protesters.

"Merchant banks", "auditors", "exchanges", "institutional investors",
"law firms" and "ratings agencies" were all clearly marked on the map.
Although the main Internet site was liable to crash due to the weight of
visitors, the pages were replicated, or "mirrored" on many other
websites throughout the world.

One Internet expert said that global mirroring of the pages showed that
whoever was behind the protest had organised it well. Throughout the day
the site was updated as events and disturbances gained pace. The site
also gave details of and links to other organisations around the world
from America to Zimbabwe which share the same anti-globalisation views.

The Australian site supporting the protest showed images of the leader
of the opposition, Kim Beazley, after protesters threw custard pies at
him. The site said he was, "pied for speaking at a meeting about APEC
and global trade sponsored by Shell".

The Australian site also showed pictures of dead wombats being dumped
outside the Stock Exchange by activists. A paragraph on the main page
called for protesters to join, "Eurobunk - a campaign for mass
fare-dodging on the overnight train ride to Cologne. No money, no
passport, no problem".

J18 appears to be an umbrella network for other activist groups which
came together for yesterday's protests.
