Well, when you called him an asshole, he took it in a lighthearted way, and
didn't get offended.  He did not flame you for that - do you see the
difference?  I'm not going to defend his action, but someone like Chris
*should* know that this list is international, and always has been, and
always will be, even if it happens to be based in the US now.  This list has
always been unforgiving of mistakes that are caused by apathy, ignorance or
any mixture of both.  I think his reply was hardly out of the ordinary
considering the trivial things that have started flamewars.  Besides, we
haven't even had a decent flamewar in probably a year or more.

You obviously have never witnessed an a-list flamewar.
