This little item was on Yahoo News - Is Home Improvement that one with the rather attractive wife with the engaging turned up nose and the not-good-enough-for-her husband on cable TV doing a tool prog?

I'm also curious about Leave It To Beaver - I'm sure I would have noticed that on UK screens.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Many Americans would like their family to be just like the one they see in ``Cosby'', but some fear the reality is closer to ``The Simpsons'', according to a poll released this week.

The Reuters/Zogby America poll asked 1,008 participants on which television families they would like to model their own.

Bill Cosby's ``Cosby'' was the most popular choice at 9.9 percent, trailed by ``7th Heaven'' with 5.7 percent and ``Home Improvement'' with 5.2 percent.

``The Waltons'' edged ``The Simpsons'' for fourth most popular choice, at 3.9 percent of respondents, compared with the Simpsons' 3.8 percent.

Asked which TV family most resembled their own, however, more respondents related to Bart Simpson than John Boy Walton.

The most common answer was ``Home Improvement'' with 7.7 percent, followed by ``Cosby'' at 7 percent. ``The Simpsons'' finished third at 4.1 percent, while ``The Waltons'' were sixth with 2.1 percent.

``While there remains continuous debate alleging a national decline in family values, the survey instead suggests that the focus on the family is still a priority among most Americans,'' said pollster John Zogby.

``The selections are intriguing because each involves an intact family where there is a vibrant manner of communication between mother and father, and between parents and the children.''

More than 50 TV families dating as far back as the '60s were named by respondents, including the Cleavers of ``Leave it to Beaver'' and the Ingalls of ``Little House on the Prairie.''
