They date from the optimism of the 1921 Factory Occupations when Malatesta writes "Now it is no longer a question of uprising to make propaganda; now we can win, and so we want to win, and only take such action when we think we can win" to the dark days of Fascism when Malatesta was under house arrest and thus forced to be careful with every word he wrote. Then he warned "if today we cannot get rid of every kind of government, this is not a good reason for taking no interest in defending the few acquired liberties and fighting to gain more of those". Above all else the articles deal with practical questions of organisation and the practice of revolution. Davide Turcato, by translating them has made a useful contribution to today's anarchist movement. All are now available on the web at http://flag.blackened.net/revolt/anarchists/malatesta.html Article list:- The Revolutionary "Haste" Further thoughts on the question of crime Class struggle or Class hatred? These translations can be regarded as a complement to the 24 articles contained in the book "The Anarchist Revolution. Polemical Articles 1924-1931" (Freedom Press, 1995). The present collection witnesses Malatesta's intellectual courage and open-mindedness, his non-conformism, even with respect to ideas commonly assumed among anarchists, and his honesty in acknowledging problems and seeking workable solution. We believe these articles contain ideas and suggestions of great value for present anarchists. Excerpts of these articles have been previously translated in the book "Malatesta: Life and Ideas" (Freedom Press, 1993), compiled and edited by Vernon Richards. In such cases, Richards' excerpts have been used and integrated in the present translation. http://flag.blackened.net/revolt/anarchists/malatesta.html ------ News of interest to anarchist from Revolt http://flag.blackened.net/revolt
