I don't recall using the word punish or implying it.  Since when is having a 
baby "punishment."  My point is, instead of "punishing" the child you 
created (by executing it), try to make a difficult situation a little 
better.  Give the child to someone who desperately wants it.  Killing the 
child only teaches that it is OK to be irresponsible, that there are no real 
consequences to ones actions.

And yes, there would be many adoptions.  And if governments would get rid of 
their illogical bans against gay and lesbian couples, transsexuals, and 
single people adopting, there would be an even larger demand for children.  
When my sister decided to give up her baby for adoption, there were scores 
of people lined up for it.
