They are still the Word of God. The men of the town did want to sodomize the messengers. The word 'know' was used in earlier editions because of people's sensibilities. It meant the same thing to them but it wasn't as blunt as saying 'want to have sex'. The original language of the Bible hasn't been changed. It has been translated into hundreds of languages. oNe of the encouraging things is that missionaries now take God's Word to people in the people's language or dialect..this limits the imperialism that has occurred. (I study Imperialism at uni.) The Bible is not supposed to be used by the English to subdue aboriginal australians... it is the good news!Of course I can't argue you into faith, I wouldn't attempt to - that is not God's will. I will pray for you and answer your questions with respect because God loves you. Faith and logic don't always mix. There are evidences but I can not 100% prove the truth to someone who hates God. The fulfilled prophecies is an evidence, creation is also, the changes in the disciples after Jesus' resurrection are another but you must examine it for yourself. In love and truth, Susan.
