I've often wondered. It doesn't sound right, but it's all there is on the web-sites. Incidentally, Clive James is his book Falling Towards England characterises Germaine Greer as Romaine Rand. Secondly, on this wanting to be free bit, I'm inclined to agree with you. For e.g. Tony Bleugh's speech at the Labour [sic] Party Conference [sic] has been welcomed by middle England who've always liked the smack of firm leadership [previous preferred option M. Thazza]. I've also always been intrigued by the way our right wing press criticised the last Tory Government for running out of steam and not having a programme. Was this a symptom of wanting to be led? Surely a neo-liberal economics supporting government should be doing just that - 1]destroy the unions, 2]wreck welfare state 3]reduce taxes for rich 4]remove labour/labor laws 5]sit back, run out of steam and let unbridled capitalism get on with it ? Or am I missing something?
