People on the inside were flashing their flourescent lights in morse
code. As I never got around to upgrading my amateur radio license, I'm
afraid I have no clue what they were saying.

I did, however, find a nice heating grate. It's damn cold.

And I'm damn tired. I'm home recuperating for now. Capitol Hill had a
major confrontation with police and the national guard last night - 3
blocks from my house. Started off as an RCP demo (ewwww...), but a group
marching from downtown joined up with them. Cops went berserk, gassing
people that were going out for groceries. If you saw NBC News tonight,
you saw a clip of a cop kicking a guy in the crotch. What you didn't see
was the judicious editing - NBC's clip made it look like the citizen was
provoking the cop, local news viewers last night saw the whole thing -
cop jabs guy in his kidneys, prodding him down the street, a good
distance is set between them, guy turns around and take just a couple
steps forwards and opens his arms in a "what am I doing wrong?" gesture,
whereupon the policeman grabs him, shoots a cork into the man's chest,
and swiftly kicks the unarmed man in the balls.

Tear gas and concussion grenades were everywhere - and this is a
*residential* neighborhood. Gas cannisters were thrown in front of
businesses full of people. The patrons would run out, whereupon the
police would douse them with pepper spray. Whole thing lasted from 7pm
to past 2am. The last four hours were concentrated from 12th to Broadway
on Pine - two short blocks. On 12th there's a police precinct, so police
formed a line on 11th and wouldn't disperse. At this time, the crowd
was Capitol Hill residents protesting the police and national guard
presence 1 mile outside the curfew zone.

And tonight, as I finish writing, Captiol Hill is brewing again - a
protest of residents at Seattle Central Community College (Pine and
Broadway). No rest for the... hey, I'm not wicked!

p.s.: Hi Roger! Don't worry too much about not meeting up with me yet.
I'm a bit tame... :)
