I have quiet a few relatives who work for chicken plants. The industry is really cruel to chickens but as far as I know they still use real chickens, albeit in fast food it's often the spare parts. I've had fresh farm chicken before and the bones are very much like those in KFC chicken. KFC (well Tyson) does sell meatier pieces but they also use hormones to stimulate growth. Plucking is no problem either. They just scald the feathers off by dumping them into large vats of boiling water. After that the remaining feathers just slide right off. The real difference in industry chicken and farm (not agri-business, but a real familly farm) chicken is the type of meat. If you raise your own chickens, chances are it will have more dark meat. This is because your chickens gets more excercise and therefore more oxygen circulates through their bodies. A chicken that spends most of its life in a cage naturally has more white meat. Peace OOT
