That's pretty depressing stuff on the greens newsgroup. As somebody else
said, Cameron can be a pretty reasonable dude. But based on my experiences
with the Greens in the US, folks may be a bit on the paranoid side by now.

The anti-anarchist stuff is partially the result of an old
Bookchin-centered split in the movement. With lots of Greens, to be
identified as an anarchist has been enough to disqualify you. As the
ASGP/GPUSA struggle focused so much attention on all sides on electoral
politics, the stigma attached to anarchism only increased. I can't imagine
many anarchists stuck with the official Green organizations, except
perhaps the small and stalled Left Green Organization. Interesting in that
context to hear that most "movement" (non-electoral) work is done under
other affiliations.

I do know that things got pretty rough and tumble before the current
arrangement between parties was hashed out - such as it is. And you don't
need provocateurs if you have a few crazies in key places within
organizations. I suspect surviving greens have settled on their equivalent
of "war communism." Don't really know how you talk to folks under those
circumstances.
