Shoot, I didn't install it. Some punk offered to send bootleg beta copies to anyone on the list so I posted a warning.

According to the people on the games lists there is no such thing as dos once you install 2000. Not a window, not a boot choice, nada. Not even an emulater that wirks (WIRK?) In hindisght the instructions are you have to partition the disk before you install and have dos in the partition in order to boot to dos and that only gives you dos control of the section of the disk that has dos on it; as I understand it a dos reformat ONLY reformats the partition (this is repeated from another list of gamers--I have no idea if this is even possible to do, but since there are several people raising hell about it, I assume there is some truth here) Since this is alien to what anyone ever had to do with any windows crapola before, no one partitoned for the dos installation first; ergo no way to uninstall.

I am not making it up about the people who have tried to reformat their disks and found the residual 2000 os still there afterwards. I know, as you do, that this should not happen, but evidently the ms octupiss has a very evil tentacle they are about to stretch out to ensnare the wirld.

How's logging?

ok, maybe i'm missing something here. if you want to wipe microshit 2k off your hard drive, can't you just use a dos boot disk and then format the whole drive? that should wipe every damn byte of data (including the OS) off of the c: drive. carpo, you're not trying to get rid of 2000 from inside of the OS itself are you? no OS will let you "uninstall" itself in that fashion; that would raise some downright metaphysical difficulties! you have to boot from another system (like a dos boot disk for ex.) and then do the dirty deed. but what the hell do i know? i'm just a dumb hillbilly.
