Subject: Resistance, futility, who knows?

As for anarchy not being for me, well I must admit that it may be easier
for YOU to defend it and believe you ARE an expert, since you don't face
democracy being twisted, misery on the streets and a fucked up State that
poses as Liberal and destroys the economy. Maybe you are right, and I've
came up with this mailing list by sheer luck, 'cause ideologies are for 1st
World inhabitants (correct if Im wrong). The problem is that I still want to
rebuild my country, and I won't give it up, even though some experienced
anarchist such as carp (what does that mean?) insists that Im too young and
dumb to understand anarchy.

I wanted to share a few thoughts although I would not consider myself
anywhere near understanding anarchy, a novice at best; I too came to this
list serv by sheer luck. my interest is education. This site is a bit
intimidating because i don't have the background and I am just getting to
understand the cultural, social, and political milieu of anarchy. I don't
really have a vision for what an anarchist community would look like because
I am still in the process of investigating the philosophy. I came to this
site with a background in critical literacy based on Paulo Freire's
conceptual framework of Pedagogy of the Oppressed. I was a bilingual teacher
for ten years before becoming illegal in California. I do know that this
site has been extremely helpful in clarifying my own perspective for an
alternative school that I am striving to develop. I appreciate the posts on
workshops, and activities going on on a global level. I believe that I live
in the belly of the beast; whereever I wake up and so at the present moment,
I strive to first make a difference with my family ( my children and husband
are constantly trying to figure out why i have such a maniac ferver against
capitalism and dominate hegemonic practices), then community, and hopefully
that will have some impact on a larger social scale. I don't advocate
violence and so I am grappling with this issue, ( I am also cultivating an
interest in buddhism) since the violence generated towards the dominate
structures is minimal compared to the violence inflicted by intergenerational
years of oppression and colonization. I am also interested in chaos theory
and how it relates to social organization in education. So I think at any
age, I find it admirable when anyone has the courage to stand out, put
themselves in the line of fire, and question authority. Enough said.
