From: Skarab99-AT-aol.com Date: Sat, 19 Feb 2000 00:03:21 EST Subject: Anarchy, the Handicapped, and Mutual Aid In defending anarchist theory, and the practical application thereof among my Authoritarian Marxist and Socialist friends they tend to point out the same problem, which i have trouble defending. They also point out other problems, and you are probably saying "that out of all problems", but ive worked out valid, logical, and applicable solutions for most of the other major problems of society, but: Where would the handicapped fit into an anarchist society? a. they would be killed(which i certainly do not believe in for obvious reasons) b. they would be abandoned(which is tragic and sad, and brutal) c. they would be cared for by their families(they say the state is just an extention of the family) d. they would be cared for by the entire community(for which they say that laziness could form and greed be rationalized) (it sounds upon reading this over that im taking a from the top view, perhaps some of you may flame me for this, but this is really the only way this analysis can be done.) I would like to hear what you think about the role of the handicapped in an anarchist society, please.
