<<What exactly is chaos theory?>>

Loosely, it's "the study of apparently chaotic phenomena," but the term
usually refers to a specific set of studies of apparently chaotic phenomena.
I'm not sure about this, but I think all chaoticians are specialists in
mathematics. They create theories that try to predict the behaviour of
complex systems like the weather. The web should be swarming with pages on
chaos theory. For something really nifty, but totally unrelated, check out
M-Theory. According to this latest incarnation of string theory, everything
is made out of ten-dimensional soap bubbles!
