This is the only time when it's acceptable to sing "Who's the bastard in the black?" to the tune of Men of Harlech - a phrase normally offensive to anarchists. American football refs of course have niftily avoided this abuse by the cunning device of wearing two colour stripy shirts thus making the scansion of the verse impossible. Of course Americans who are further advanced down the road of corporate sponsorship in sport, won't have this rich vein of sheer hatred to draw on as an outlet for aggression. Andy
