Date: Thu, 06 Apr 2000 16:13:25 -0400 From: Bill White <bwhite-AT-libertariansocialist.com> Subject: A12 vs. A16 Just a quick note on something I've learned: Despite the claims of rally organizers, and articles printed in recent newspapers such as the Washington Post, mainstream organized labor and other mainstream anti-globalist groups are not endorsing the April 16th demonstrations being planned against the World Bank, and are not mobilizing their supporters to attend the A16 demonstration (http://www.a16.org). This according to a conversation I just had with both AFL-CIO and USWA organizers. Instead, the non-fringe left organizations have rejected the rally endorsed by groups like the "Foot Fetish Liberation Front" (http://www.a16.org/a16_endorsers.cfm), and are instead endorsing a rally being sponsored by the AFL-CIO and others on the April 12th (the "A12" rally.) Buchanan will be at the A12 rally, not at the A16 rally like LSN, my news service, had implied in a recent post. (We made such an implication due to a confusion on dates from our source on that.) For those who read LSN, expect a detailed article tonight on how the fringe leftists of the DC area have exploited the WTO publicity to con the media into highlighting their otherwise mediocre political movement.
