Are you the same person formerly known as Punk Ass ?

If so, I simply don't believe your tall tale about you were referring 
to the Latins overthrowing their Etruscan overlords. If any Italian 
anarchist were posting to the list and talking about their country,
they would specify that they meant Italy. In every case where 
some new person has posted to this international list using terms
like "this country", it has been an American talking about the USA.

Thoreau was long after American independence. 
He strongly disagreed with Tom Paine's view that
all citizens must automatically obey a democratically
elected government no matter what actions it takes.
