The weird thing is that the refugees we seem most upset about are the
oma  -  understandable tradition of racism here - but large numbers continue
to come from aspiring EC members, not just the realms of the former
whatever. I've just been listening to some interviews with Polish and Czech
Rep asylum seekers, saying that they are being told they're not wanted in
P/CR. I can't remember what the timetable for EC entry is? But the "free"
movement is within a couple of years  anyway. So if our govs are so worried
why aren't they making bellicose noises at Poland and CR? Or have I missed
something? We've had large numbers of Somalis who have passed almost without
comment into West London, on a national level at any rate. I'm totally
confused by this selective racism - I wonder if it's because for the first
time, people are arriving in small town Kent via the tunnel rather than
urban London by plane.
