Cancer of the gonads is eminently more curable than cancers of women's bits as it has to travel a fair distance before spreading, and you usually only lose one out of the two anyway. Perhaps it's like the crumple zones in modern cars. You knacker your front near-side cluster, but the effect doesn't ripple back along the chassis as in 50s and 60s cars. Men are obviously akin to your modern motor [better design, good safety features] whereas women are more retro - better styling and neat lines with interesting detailing but tending to rippling effects under stress.
