Without the testicles being outsides of the body (and hence a couple of 
degrees cooler than standard body temp.) those cute little homunculi would 
shrivel up and die.

Actually, I think this is a better argument for God being female.  Mouth off 
to your lady (or mouth in to another) and a well placed foot will set that 
classical conditioning reflex arc straight into well-behaved monogamy mode.
