Date: Fri, 16 Jun 2000 22:25:31 -0700 Subject: J18-2: Electric Boogaloo Heya folksies, I won't be in Eugene this weekend - heck, I've still yet to set foot in Oregon (colour me afraid of the white power groups on the I-5 corridor) - but I *will* be keeping tabs on Northwest Cable News this weekend, which hopefully promises good live coverage if major stuff goes down. NWCN has very good live feeds of WTO and particularly the police invasion of my neighborhood (the latter which I'm still going to remind everyone of; most pissant activists don't even mention it, and even the "major" WTO documentary "Trade Off" doesn't bother an aside to the event). They also carried Costco-sized portions of the two city council marathon public outcry sessions held in the week afterwards. Where was I? Oh yeah... I'll keep the list appraised of any events of note while not reaching the threshold of spamming (hi, Strider!). Tomorrow is the annual festival at the center of the universe: i.e., Fremont. The neighborhood is the home of a giant-sized statue of Lenin (why didn't the cops chase the protesters there, eh?). Of course, I'll be hoping to see the nekkid bicyclists. (Sorry, just trying to tie this in with the previous thread about [insert body part here] and its/their relation to anarchist societies. And hey, check out www.disinformation.com - you'll like. joshua h jlhouk-AT-uswest.net
