For more general information please see our web site at naac.8m.com The North American Anarchist Conference will be taking place in Los Angeles from August 11-17 2000. The primary focus of the NAAC will be the intellectual, philosophical, theoretical, technical and spiritual advancement of anarchism as a political theory, ideology, practice, and the analysis and evaluation of the current state of anarchism as a viable political theory and practice. The first three days of the NAAC (August 11-13) will include speakers, workshops, films, study groups, networking, plays, film shows and preparing for the last four days (August 14-17) which coincide with the Democratic National Convention which is being held in Los Angeles. We still need many more submissions in the area of art and culture, and we still need to get more confirmations for keynote speakers. We will be sending out new updated and improved lists as we develop them. Please keep sending us your ideas. To those of you who have proposed workshops, please get in contact with us to confirm that you are still interested. Other Updates: We have received many questions regarding housing and transportation. We will be setting up lists on our web page where people can ask for housing/transportation. People who can provide housing/transportation should leave a contact and we will begin to hook people up with what they need. We will also be providing information on train, buss, and car directions on the web page in a little while. We are asking that people pre-register for the NAAC. It is not mandatory, but it will help us out alot if people do pre-register. We are asking for a 25 dollar donation. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Any donations over 25 dollars would be greatly appreciated as we have many expenses to deal with before the conference. Our pre-registration form is available at our web site, just print it out and sent it in. Take care, and we will see you all in August For the revolution---- The August Collective NORTH AMERICAN ANARCHIST CONFERENCE LOS ANGELES = AUGUST 11-17 2000 http://naac.8m.com/ augustcollective_la-AT-disinfo.net _____________________________________________________________ Email your boss can't read - sign up for free disinfo.net email at http://www.disinfo.com, your gateway to the underground
