Why is he always Mumpsimus Prior?

He may claim it means 'Previous' referring to an earlier utterance, but isn't a Prior also the Deputy Head of a monastic religious community [immediately under the abbot, in an ecclesiastical if  not biblical sense] and therefore celibate???

Mumps, the Royal wee, genito-urinary clues, sketchy knowledge of Latin, now perhaps enforced celibacy. It could all be connected.

I deduce that we're  looking for a Cistercian with cystitis.
