The name Gloria Grahame does ring a bell though - perhaps Germaine G had leapt to Camille's defence and turned the insult back on Gloria G. I wonder if having a G in one's name is an indicator of having feminist traits? Andrew, Gloria Grahame was a US cinema actress who did mostly sexpot roles in the late 50s and the 60s. (perhaps a bit later or earlier, i disremember.) she made quite a few B and a number of A films. she had this attitude about her on the screen that just exuded sex from ever pore. my reply was just the kind o nonsense that y often get when y encounter a geezer with too much time on his hands. i often forget that Limey and Yank humour be somewhat different from one another. i apologise for being misleading. the "Star Spangled Banner" remark is in reference to getting a fantasy hum job from said Camille Paglia. it's "...and the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air..." phrase that would really get me off. but, of course, there i go again -- taking for granted that y would be more familiar with our national anthem than we are with yours. sorry to be a bore, and all. i'll attempt to do better in future. old goat. isn’t saving lives actually postponing deaths?
