The gist of the game is that only one person will make it, after all the others have been voted off the island. This has apparently given rise to what www.mired.com is calling "fascism." I don't watch the show, so I can't really tell how much of what is described is really happening or not (mired tends to write pieces that bend the truth, although those satire pieces are usually extreme, such as the article "Gates Steps Down, Buys Cuban Boy") Here's the link for the article, entitled, "Survivor: Fascism in Action" http://www.mired.com/pipe/pipe_07_13_2000.html excerpt: "Whatever happens, it’s interesting – and more than a little depressing – to see, a half-century after the Nazis considered sending European Jews to a far-off island before deciding upon the "final solution," American adults so easily and comfortably taking up the comforting logic of fascism as a way to 'Outwit, Outplay, Outlast.'" Just thought I'd pass this along.... mat
