Any violence that occurs in LA will probably be caused by a police conflict and the mainstream media will portray the activists as violent nuts regardless of who started what. If you think NBC, the BBC, the FBI or anyone else in power will ever do otherwise you are an idiot. It's a reality anyone seriously involved in politics had best deal with. 

Besides that, it was intended as funny. I'm willing to bet that all of the popular radicals in the past twenty years have had a nasty sense of humor, because humor is an effective way that working people express anger. We educate ourselves with Mad magazine and bathroom graffiti and graduate to beer drinking movies and urban legends. They may seem unsophisticated to a middle class academic, but so does most folklore.
