Anarchism is a movement with a history and tradition. Part
of that includes support of workers in struggle. Taking the
side of the state against a group of workers in struggle
thus puts you outside of anarchism. Nothing to do with
towing any line there - unless you beleive the word
anarchism should have no meaning.

So why in this case (as in others) are you not only taking the
same side of the state but repeating its formulations as
'your' ideas.

Well no dougbt if we were full time paid journalists running a
paper with huge financial resources and the backing of majpor
advertisers then we'd put out a more attractive product. Were
not, we are a small group of average workers with no rich
backers who write articles in our spare time and pay for
the production of the paper out of our wages.

In general you'll find that is how the anarchist press
works everywhere and has always worked. Your respect
for the establishment press merely confirms what
I said in the last post.

The Irish Times is a typical liberal paper that can
be quite good on 'social' issues (divorce, abortion
etc) but when it comes to economic issues is every
bit as much a reactionary rag as the Star.

Fundmentally whatever you might think of ILDA
you must support the right of the train drivers
to choose to be represented by ILDA. That's
their choice, not yours or Kevin Myers.
