"Anarchism: Two Kinds" is a Wendy McElroy piece, and it's probably a
mistake to dismiss McElroy, who is smart and serious, too swiftly.
Obviously, her understanding of anarchist history is a little suspect, but
it's probably no more objectionable than the left-anarchist histories that
reduce Proudhon to a step on the way to Bakunin or Kropotkin, and more or
less completely ignore the north american tradition from Josiah Warren to
Tucker. This is no more the case than it is that Warren and Tucker are
proto-Rothbard's too "wary of profit-making."

And, honestly, there's something to reckon with in McElroy's claim that
"they were attacking an abstraction -- the free market - by destroying the
specific property of individual shop owners." It isn't clear how well we
have adapted our tactics to the real job of changing the world, or how
careful we have ben in identifying our enemies.
