Access (for some) to people / companies who pay Big Money. Or if they don't
pay Big Money, then access to lotsnlotsnlots who pay small money. Which
adds up.

Access to the latest and greatest in consumables & technology. Wahey. I'm
so excited, I didn't even put ! at the end of the sentence.

Those two are the pushmepullyou of the vicious circle. But...

Access to a wide range of potential fuc^H^H^H mates.

Anonymity, which means there's less social pressure to Do Things As They've
Always Been Done. (Small-town mentality). But it also means that there's
less social pressure to respect others.

There are more likely to be like-minded people around if you already aren't
in the mainstream. Paris earlier this century as a centre for Art &
Literature. art & literature?

The last two are pretty neatly handled by the internet. So the biggest
megalopolis of them all is virtual?

bye
John
