This Columbia Thing is Bad News.  We've (the US) been training a 
*battalion* of Special Forces  (800-1000 men, depending on what source you 
read) for over a year and all they're waiting on is some Blackhawk 
helicopters to take them up-country after the "narco-traffickers."  Except 
the narco-traffickers pay the Columbian commie insurgents and the local 
constabulary to protect the cocaine production areas.  So if the 1.6 
billion bucks goes through we're buying in to another People's War.  This 
thing is not well thought out and looks like a quagmire already made.

Barto?  You see any similarities?  Going after the narcos when the narcos 
is the government and the guerillas?

Might make those holes in you ache just to think about it.
