I guess mine is about 1100 square feet. No deer to
shoot, though we have got urban foxes and plenty of
verminous squirrels. The only other thing worth
shooting is the mysterious police helicopter which
consistently flies over my house at 1 a.m. for no
apparent reason, and is apparently disowned by the old
Bill whenever I phone to enquire when it's going to
bugger off and let me sleep.

No reed beds then? As to the white trash thing, I'm
effectively that anyway by virtue of living in the
London Borough of Hounslow rather than adjacent
Richmond.

How much to fiddle a green card? Seems to me though
that once you've got your pension you can stay over as
much as you want. My father seems to have spent most
of the last eight years in the USA with no problems.
Until he re-married - a woman with unfeasibly arched
eyebrows and Nancy Reagan hair from New Jersey - he
just used to do about 6 months at a time, then comes
back here for a couple of weeks then back out again.
