Subject: David Brower, RIP


Just heard that one of the true heros of the environmental movement, David
Brower, died last night. (He was 88 years old and kickin' to the end, I
believe.)

Brower, who was forced out of the Sierra Club -- which he'd headed for many
years -- always, ALWAYS, spoke truth to power, and refused to back down
when faced with the plethora of liberal apologists trying to explain away
why we had to vote for those responsible for chainsawing the old growth
forests or polluting our waters.

I had the privilege of seeing Brower a few years ago at the Sierra Club
film festival in NYC. What a champion, a wonderful human being.
