The grachii could have very well been xenophobes, the romans considered
anyone not roman, or at least italian, barbarians. I'm not well enough
knowledgeble of the ideas of the grachii to say they where left or rightwing.
At that time they probable were very leftwing relatively. But if you compare
it with today, I wouldn't know. Man, this is the first time I wished I had payed
more attention during latin-class:-)
