Date: Thu, 3 May 2001 13:19:28 -0400 (EDT) From: "Shawn P. Wilbur" <swilbur-AT-wcnet.org> Subject: Pauper's update I had set May 1 as a personal deadline to make some decisions about my future and the future of Pauper's Books. I'm afraid the right decision has been staring me in the face for a long time. I intend to wrap up my involvement with the store and the town of Bowling Green within the next year. Hopefully, it will be possible to work things so that there will still be an independent bookstore in town - i'm talking to a couple of prospective buyers - but, unfortunately, it's not likely that either the anarchist focus or the space set aside for music and cultural work will survive the transition. AKA Bookish Publications and a revamped Libertatia Recordings will carry on, wherever i end up. Actually, in the midst of the general disaster, Libertatia is releasing two new discs this week, and EP by Streamlined and an ambient/noise disc by Guinea Pig Fleet called "Nagasaki." I'm hoping the next twelve months will give me a chance to wrap up some projects and collaborations and leave on a more positive note. And the move ought to give me a chance to be more involved again in a number of online projects that have had to take a backseat to the bookstore. Thanks to everyone who has given moral or material support. -shawn Shawn P. Wilbur, Bookseller | An Anarchist Bookstore: Pauper's Books | 10,000s of Titles In All Categories 206 N.
