It was the same over here. If it hadn't for our flag halfmast in between
the blue, red, and white, you'd think the damn town was, say: Hamburg/
Texarse. But most of the US flags are no longer seen here.

Again, same over here. Our politicians are doing somersaults right now
every time Bush only as much as thinks about hopping. A lot of talk about
we must support the USA.
Media are publishing polls about the population's support to go to war,
and keep telling us that something like 58% of us are willing to engage in
a war. Well, like the catchline of an old joke goes: funny, I keep meeting
these other 42%. Not only in anarchist circles, but on the streets,
talking to neighbours, talking to people joining in conversations whom
you'd never met before.

We're being reassured that our army is so much in dire straits they
already sent everything and everybody fit for doing missions down to
Kosovo and Macedonia, so - as they say - all we could do was send down
paramedic units and kitchens.

Up to now I heard just one remark by a high-ranking politician that
differed: that was from the president of parliament, but on the other
hand, he's from the East. Anyways, he said that the German population had
thoroughly been re-educated and did not enjoy saber-rattling and an
exaggerated patriotism any longer. I fuckin well hope he's right here.
