First of all, you're posting this to a list where many people don't even
take their political views seriously, except in an obsessive D&D gamer
sort of way (i.e. from: "my flaming sword of cuthulu defeats your cloak
of invincibility!" to: "anarcho-so-an-so sucks anarcho-dogmatism is the
true revolutionary path!"). At least that's my opinion of many of the
posters here. Either that or they just wank about irrelevancies.

Many people on this list use their political philosophy as a substitute
for interacting with people in a substantive way and you actually expect
them to talk about how they feel about thousands of people dying?

On the other hand what do you really expect from people? You want us all
to work on a made-for-TV movie about this or something? You saw a
horrible, unspeakable thing, but people see horrible, unspeakable things
the world over all the time -- the difference is "our" government and the
plutocrats they represent are directly and indirectly responsible for
*those* unspeakable acts.

I had friends in New York I was worried sick about the first couple days
after the attack, but fortunately everyone I know is OK. I know I am not
the first person in the world to be in such a situation. Perspective is
important to understanding.

Actually, I haven't been all that happy with this list since I joined it
last spring and the reaction to this event has pretty much caused me to
decide to unsubscribe. This is just not an interesting place.
