Why should a state be required to deal with an obnoxious and
murderous theocracy?

Perhaps a 21st Century Abraham Lincoln Brigade is in order. One
not controlled by statists. Northern Alliance rebels in the Pahnjir
valley could use *any* help, and one can pay officials in the central
asian republics to ignore and/or facilitate anything for a few dollars.

If you feel that strongly about the Taliban, then organize a group to
act against it. Don't push for more state power to deal with it.
