I see where shrub is going to help Paki become a full-fledged nation state.
Whoopee.  MSNBC reported a couple of nights ago that 95% of the paki
population live *outside* of state contorl.  If it weren't for the warlords,
that might not be a Bad Thing.

Yesterday's Chicago Tribune had a very good article on how the brits made
countries where no countries were before by just drawing lines on a colonial
map.  The Pashtuns were the subject.  One of the guys interviewed said once
there was a Pashtun state (country, maybe, or tribal homeland) and it was
cut in half by the line.  That's the kind of stuff I teach my wirld
geography students, except I've always shown tribal homeland maps of africa
and overlaid the current "national" boundary maps onto the original.  Got ay
tribal maps of the "Stan" regions you'd like to share?
