Heh, while arguing with some idiot who was condemning unions for protecting the economically unfit, I wrote the following: "Jealous? You say you believe in capitalism, but I question that - otherwise you'd understand, as Ayn Rand did, that capitalism at its base, is the art of trading. You give up something in exchange for something you want more. Obviously when trading, you want to give up as little as possible and take as much as possible. Now wouldn't it be foolish for you to not use a device as effective as collective bargaining if it was available? It costs so little, and yet the results speak for themselves. The same reasoning goes for people whining about lazy union workers. The best capitalists are those who get the biggest return for the least investment, yeah? Well there you go! Don't hate them because they're good capitalists. Because clearly, if someone can make more money with less effort and preparation, that just means they're better people than you. cheers, scott organizing for a more selfish world..." And that mental gymnastic routine amused me so much that I thought I'd share it here. cheers, scott ------------------------------------------------------------- "I never let schooling interfere with my education." -Mark Twain Piston Ported Vespas: http://piston-ported.netfirms.com words http://www.geocities.com/vespass/words.html ST Louis Secular Homeschooler's Co-Op http://www.stlsecularhomeschool.org -------------------------------------------------------------
