Activists and Academics Protest (Partial List)

Perhaps the most important letter of support in our protest against
RoadRunner's policy came from Milton John Kleim Jr. Kleim was once the head
of the National Alliance's cybercell and authored "Our Tactics and Strategy
for Usenet" as one of the fascist's major documents. Kleim has since left
the fascist movement. But Kleim, more than anybody else, well understands
how the National Alliance operates.

However, as we were going to press, Patrick Coeman also wrote in support of
the protest. Coeman is the Chairman of AntifaNet, a European mega-site
hosting 52 European antifascist and antiracist groups.

It has been brought to my attention by Paul Kneisel that a very vicious and
sneaky method is being used by KKK types to destroy progressive political
websites and cyberlife. I urge RoadRunner to get to the truth in this
situation, and reinstate the victims of these attacks with full rights and
privileges.

I am a fairly active user of the internet in part in my membership in the
Black Radical Congress and its associated cyberlinks. As a Black person, I
am extremely concerned that KKKers and neo-Nazis not be allowed to bring
their anti-human crimes into cyberspace communication.

and you ought to cover your corporate butt on this matter--even if you do

Freedom Socialist Party which represents the sections of our socialist
feminist party in Australia, Canada and the United States of America to
protest about the decision by Road Runner to stop providing service to
anti-fascist activist, Paul Kneisel.

We understand that the decision to pull his service is the result of a
campaign of fascist cyberstalking.

We are extremely concerned that RoadRunner has capitulated to this tactic
by the right wing and urge you to reinstate Mr Kneisel's service
immediately.

... Whatever sort of communication has been sent to your staff by National
Alliance members is surely based upon "managed" data with specific
purposes. It is important for your staff to consider the source of any
complaints against Mr. Kniesel. These people would not hesitate to
terminate your freedom of speech, and would likely murder many individuals
on your staff, if their primary goal is ever achieved. It is important that
one of their key adversaries not be silenced due to false accusations or
doctored "facts."

It is my conviction that Mr. Kneisel has been a victim of the most extreme
slander and libel by fascists using the Web, and that utterly false
complaints have been lodged by these fascists with Road Runner. These
fascists who use the Web are attempting to silence Paul Kneisel's strong
voice because he exposes their various pernicious lies: that there never
was a Nazi Holocaust, and that whites are a superior race, and all the rest
of that all-too-familiar and dangerously poisonous ideology.

I cannot believe that Road Runner would act in either open or covert
complicity with such terrible organizations as the neo-nazi National
Alliance. I can only conclude that you have acted in error. Well, we all
make mistakes, but mistakes can and should be rectified.

It seems extremely unlikely to me that Paul would be engaged in any
shenanigans-- but very possible that he might be the target for some.

This is just a background letter in support of Paul. He told me there had
been problems with the roadrunner connection and I hope that has been
cleared up.

... Have enjoyed a discussion with mailing lists contact with Mr. Kneisel
for a long time, and cant conceive of any reason he would lose an account
for harrasement or security issues. His conduct has always been proper,
respectful of others and his political positions have also been same. I
trust that a citizen of this country who disagrees with something, in a
proper manner, does not suffer some form of prejudice.

... I have received email from Paul Kneisel for years and have found it
always to be well-founded, well-documented, and civil. He violates nobody's
rights, but does expose fascist efforts at intimidation and deception on
the Internet.

For this service to humanity, he is a constant target of nazi disruption.
It is shameful that Roadrunner has apparently fallen in with this strategy.

... I run an email list for hundreds of my NY-area high school buddies,
many of whom are still live in NY, many of whom are Jewish, and ALL of whom
despise Nazis, neo and otherwise. Some of them might want to consider

Back down and restore Mr. Kneisel's service.

I write reference letters all the time, but this is one of the strangest
and most sad one that I have written. I just want to let you know that Paul
Kneisel is a great person, a true democratic activist, and someone highly
committed to the pluralism that the best part of America is all about. So
please don't let fascists harass him. In supporting him, you are helping
all the minorities who suffer harassment: racial, national, sexual, and
religious minorities. Help Paul inform people through the internet about
the threats that our freedom continues to face.
