That's what parties are all > > about (and people who want to create them). Some Green Party groups I've read about continue to operate in a decentralized form, but only on small local levels. At that level, it seems to me, they are akin to union locals (at least in theory, though not usually in practice); more democratic, less hierarchial. Involvement with groups like these could be a good thing; stress those positive attributes (autonomy, accountability, etc.) to other members before they get sucked into the political machinery, spreading the gospel of decentralization. We all know that organization is required to accomplish some tasks, and as long as groups don't try to move beyond their stated purpose, perhaps being part of one wouldn't be quite so heretical. I realize that this isn't a purist thought, so go easy on me.
